Police dash cam footage released on February 20 shows former WWE chairman Vince McMahon driving more than 100 miles per hour moments before crashing his Bentley into another vehicle in July 2025 on Route 15 near Westport.
The video, obtained by The Sun, captures McMahon’s vehicle weaving through traffic before rear-ending a BMW. After the impact, the Bentley struck a guardrail, scattering debris across the roadway. The car then continued forward before pulling over near an exit ramp.
Additional footage shows a Connecticut state trooper approaching McMahon after the crash. The officer asked whether he needed an ambulance, and McMahon declined. The trooper then questioned why he was “driving over 100 mph.”
McMahon told the officer he was heading to see his granddaughter for her birthday. When asked whether he noticed the trooper attempting to catch up before the crash, McMahon said he was not trying to “outrun” the officer.
“You almost hit I think 115 miles an hour,” the officer said. “Then you just hit someone because you weren’t paying attention.” The trooper asked whether McMahon had been using his phone while driving. McMahon responded that he had not and said he was simply “trying to drive.”
“I haven’t been driving my car in God knows how long,” McMahon added. While handing over his license and registration, McMahon called himself a “stupid f***ing fool.”
Authorities said the other driver was not injured. Police charged McMahon with reckless driving and following too closely resulting in an accident.

In October 2025, a judge allowed McMahon to enter a pretrial diversion program if he made a $1,000 charitable contribution, according to TMZ. Under the agreement, he may drive only if properly licensed and insured. If he completes the program, the charges will be dismissed after one year.
McMahon’s attorney, Mark Sherman, said they welcomed the court’s decision. “It was good news,” Sherman said at the time. “Not every car accident is a crime, and the judge agreed he deserved this dismissal, and we’re grateful for that.”
Vince McMahon Faces Driving Case Months After WWE Resignation Amid Lawsuit Claims

Vince McMahon previously served as CEO and Chairman of the Board of WWE. The 80-year-old resigned from the company in June 2022 amid an internal investigation into misconduct allegations.
“I have pledged my complete cooperation to the investigation by the Special Committee, and I will do everything possible to support the investigation,” McMahon said in a statement at the time.
He added, “I have also pledged to accept the findings and outcome of the investigation, whatever they are.”
In January 2024, a former WWE employee named Janel Grant filed a lawsuit accusing McMahon of assault, trafficking, and abuse. McMahon denied the claims.
“This lawsuit is replete with lies, obscene made-up instances that never occurred, and a vindictive distortion of the truth. He will vigorously defend himself,” a spokesperson for McMahon said in a January 2024 statement to Us Weekly.
