A spokesperson for Victoria Beckham later clarified the situation to PEOPLE, explaining that Cruz “was responding to stories that (his) parents had unfollowed their son, which isn’t true.” Representatives for David Beckham and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on Saturday, Dec. 20.
The social media activity has unfolded amid longstanding rumors of a family rift dating back to 2022, when Brooklyn married actress Nicola Peltz Beckham. The couple tied the knot in an elegant Palm Beach, Florida, ceremony attended by family and close friends.
Despite the celebratory setting, the wedding was followed by widespread reports of tension between Nicola and the Beckham family, fueling ongoing speculation about strained relationships behind the scenes.

At the time, speculation swirled around claims that Nicola chose not to wear a wedding dress designed by Victoria Beckham, despite reports that such plans had initially been discussed.
