Donald Trump Backs Jake Paul For Future Political Run During Kentucky Rally

Donald Trump publicly voiced support for boxer and internet personality Jake Paul if he ever chooses to pursue a career in politics. Trump made the remarks during a rally in Hebron, Kentucky, on March 11, where Paul joined him on stage and briefly addressed supporters.

Speaking to the crowd, Trump suggested Paul could enter politics in the near future and offered his endorsement. “I’m going to make a prediction that you will be, in the not-too-distant future, running for political office,” Trump said on stage. “You have my complete and total endorsement.”

Paul has not publicly announced any plans to run for office. The boxer and podcaster has built a large public profile through social media, professional boxing events, and his podcast BS w/ Jake Paul, which regularly features athletes and other public figures.

During the rally, Paul praised Trump and spoke about political engagement while addressing attendees. “What Mr. Trump has taught me is courage. We never back down from a fight, even if they’re much bigger than you. Much, much bigger than you. I feel all the local Kentuckians feel the same way. You guys have that fight. You guys have that swag.”

“All of our voices matter in America,” he continued, adding, “I know God is with us. He wants us on the right side of history… God’s got us. Trump’s got us.”

Trump also told rally attendees that Paul had invited him to appear on his podcast, BS w/ Jake Paul. The president said he initially hesitated to accept because of the demands of his office.

Under federal law, candidates must meet minimum age requirements to seek national office. Individuals must be at least 25 years old to run for the United States House of Representatives, 30 for the United States Senate, and 35 to run for president. Paul currently meets the age requirement to run for the House.

Paul grew up in Kentucky but was reported to be residing in Puerto Rico as of 2024, according to property records cited by Realtor.com. He has also been linked to property ownership in Georgia.

Trump’s endorsement comes during a U.S. election year, when all 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate are scheduled to be contested in November.

Jake Paul has appeared alongside Donald Trump at political events before. He attended Trump’s second-term inauguration on January 20, 2025, and later took part in an inaugural ball held that evening.

During the same appearance in Kentucky on March 11, Jake Paul drew attention for remarks comparing Donald Trump’s leadership to divine guidance while speaking about economic development and political support.

The 29-year-old said, “We need more factories like this thriving all over the country. I know he is going to be the one to bring that here to us. I know God is with us. I know he wants us on the right side of history. And everyone here has to do their part. And God’s got us, Trump’s got us.”

For the unversed, Paul was an outspoken supporter of Trump during the 2024 presidential election, when Trump ran against former Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump’s victory marked the start of his second presidential term after his first election win in 2016.

In videos posted to his YouTube channel during the campaign, Paul urged viewers to research candidates and vote for Trump, saying the election could “quite literally save America.”

He also criticized celebrity endorsements tied to the race, referencing support from pop star Taylor Swift for Harris. Paul also discussed Trump’s legal situation at the time, when the president faced felony charges related to a New York case.

He had said, “History shows that sometimes those who challenge the system are the ones who make a difference. To be frank, I’m not concerned with Donald Trump’s ‘character flaws’ or what he’s done in the past. What I’m concerned with is how good a president is he, because that is his job and that’s what’s going to affect the people of this nation.”

Paul has continued to comment publicly on political and cultural issues in recent months while maintaining his presence in boxing, podcasting and online media.
