Donald Trump Voices Concern For ‘Close Friend’ Tiger Woods Following Florida Rollover Crash

Donald Trump addressed the situation involving Tiger Woods following the golfer’s rollover crash in Florida, expressing concern before authorities confirmed a DUI arrest. Officials later verified that the incident occurred on March 27 in Jupiter Island, near 281 Beach Road.

According to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, Woods was driving a dark-colored Land Rover when he attempted to pass a utility pressure cleaner truck towing a trailer. Investigators stated that Woods allegedly clipped the rear of the trailer, causing the SUV to roll over. Authorities said Woods managed to crawl out of the vehicle on his own. He was the sole occupant, and no injuries were reported.

Trump spoke about Woods after arriving in Miami for the Future Investment Initiative Priority Summit. “I feel so badly. He’s got some difficulty. There was an accident, and that’s all I know. Very close friend of mine, he’s an amazing person, amazing man. But some difficulty.”

When asked if Woods had been injured, Trump declined to provide further details. “I don’t want to talk about it.” At the scene, DUI investigators carried out sobriety procedures.

“Woods showed signs of impairment and refused a urinalysis test, leading to charges of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test,” Budensiek said. Authorities also noted that Woods registered a 0.00 result on a breathalyzer test.

Authorities later released Tiger Woods’ mugshot following his arrest, showing him with bloodshot eyes and a neutral expression. Officials reiterated that Woods showed “signs of impairment” but clarified they were not suspecting alcohol involvement.

Budensiek confirmed Woods “blew triple zeros” on the breathalyzer test while refusing a urinalysis. This marks Woods’ second DUI-related arrest. In 2017, he was found asleep behind the wheel in Florida and later attributed the incident to an “unexpected reaction” to medication. He pleaded guilty to reckless driving and received probation.

The March 27 crash remains under investigation as authorities continue legal proceedings. The crash adds to Woods’ history of serious vehicle incidents.

In 2021, he survived a near-fatal rollover crash in Palos Verdes, California, which resulted in multiple leg injuries and surgeries. The 15-time major champion had recently returned to golf earlier in the week, competing in the TGL Finals after more than a year away.
