Olympic freestyle skier Eileen Gu and WNBA star Caitlin Clark attended the Prada runway presentation during Milan Fashion Week on Thursday, marking one of Gu’s first major public appearances following the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Gu shared a photo with Clark from the show on her Instagram Story, which Clark later reposted on her own account. Clark is currently preparing for her third WNBA season with the Indiana Fever.
The appearance came shortly after Gu’s medal-winning run at the Milan–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics earlier this month. Representing China, the 22-year-old captured three medals, bringing her Olympic career total to six. She successfully defended her gold medal in the halfpipe event while also earning silver medals in both big air and slopestyle.
At the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Gu won gold in big air and halfpipe and claimed silver in slopestyle. However, Gu revealed she learned of her grandmother’s passing shortly after winning the halfpipe gold.
“She was a steamship,” an emotional Gu told reporters on Sunday. “This woman commanded life, and she grabbed it by the reins, and she made it into what she wanted it to be.”

Gu also reflected on their final meeting before she departed for the Games. “The last time I saw her before I came to the Olympics, she was very sick, so I knew that this was a possibility. I didn’t promise her that I was going to win, but I did promise her that I was going to be brave. She’s been brave.”
Born in the United States, Gu competes internationally for China. Across two Olympic appearances, she has also become the most decorated freestyle skier in Olympic history.

Speaking to France 24 about balancing sport and style, Gu said, “I have the other job, the other fashion thing. I’m really excited to just explore some other avenues, be creative, and explore my femininity through fashion, which is something I’ve always loved, and to kind of put that in juxtaposition with skiing and with sports.”
