On 3 October, 2022, Katherine Heigl announced that the second season of the Netflix show, ‘Firefly Lane‘, will be its last. The streaming platform did not provide a reason for its end, but we might guess it.
‘Firefly Lane‘ aired on Netflix in February 2021. The series is an adaptation of Kristin Hannah’s novel with the same title. The coming-of-age series stars Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke as the bosom buddies Tully Hart and Kate Mularkey. People quickly took to the warm comradeship and the eventful lives of the two. Therefore, it came as a blow that the duo might not be friends anymore in the next season. It’s possible that the story just needed to end because it’s based on a novel.

According to the novel, Kate is diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. The Firefly girls approach each other to mend their friendship. On a tearful note, Kate asks Tully to take care of her husband (whom she didn’t divorce) and children.
Will Kate die? Is the reason for ‘Firefly Lane‘ ending Kate’s death? All these questions will be answered in the upcoming season.
