Former WWE wrestler Jesse Ventura cast doubt on the 2024 assassination attempt on Donald Trump, prompting a response from the White House. During the Tuesday, March 24 episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, Ventura referenced a wrestling term while discussing the incident.
“You ever hear of a blade job?” Ventura asked host Piers Morgan. The term refers to a practice in professional wrestling where performers cut themselves to create blood for dramatic effect.
Morgan reacted with surprise. “A blade job? What, you think it was fake?” he asked. Ventura responded, “I don’t know. Where’s his scar?”
Morgan pushed back by citing the fatality during the July 2024 rally shooting in Butler. “Somebody died literally sitting behind him,” he said, referring to firefighter Corey Comperatore, who lost his life in the attack. The White House strongly condemned Ventura’s remarks in an official statement.
Spokesperson Davis Ingle said, “On that tragic day in Butler, Pennsylvania, we tragically lost an American hero, Corey Comperatore, who selflessly laid down his life to protect those around him. President Trump will never forget Corey and his beautiful family. On that dark day, God spared President Trump’s life by a miraculous millimeter.”

The statement further added, “President Trump is standing stronger than ever as he continues to ‘fight, fight, fight’ for the American people. Only a fool would believe otherwise.”
The July 2024 shooting in Butler drew nationwide attention after a gunman opened fire during a campaign rally, killing Comperatore and injuring several others.
Jesse Ventura Calls Out Donald Trump For WWE Showdown, Questions Hall Of Fame Honor

During the same interview, Jesse Ventura also criticized Donald Trump’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013. He alleged the decision was tied to Trump halting an investigation involving former WWE CEO Vince McMahon.
The 74-year-old said, “Trump being a Hall of Famer is a tragedy. This guy has never been in the ring. Donald Trump does not belong in the wrestling Hall of Fame. He never earned it. You know what I had to do to get in the pro wrestling Hall of Fame at one point in my career? I wrestled 63 consecutive nights in a row. That’s how you get in the Hall of Fame.”
Ventura also suggested a confrontation with Trump, saying Minnesota was “secure” and it may be time for a showdown with the “draft dodger.”
