Fox Taps Livvy Dunne For Key Role In Highly Anticipated ‘Baywatch’ Reboot

Livvy Dunne is set to begin her acting career with a role in Baywatch as part of Fox’s upcoming reboot of the iconic franchise. Fox Broadcasting Company and Deadline announced the casting on March 12, through a joint Instagram post with the show’s official page, confirming that Dunne will join the series for the 2026–2027 television season.

The former Louisiana State University gymnast will appear in a recurring role as Grace, described as a “highly enthusiastic junior lifeguard.” The role marks Dunne’s professional acting debut following her retirement from collegiate gymnastics in April 2025.

She previously told PEOPLE that acting had long been an interest, though it was difficult to pursue while balancing the demands of being a student-athlete.

“It’s something I’ve been passionate about for quite some time,” she said earlier this month. “I was interested in doing that at LSU, but sports are your top priority when you’re a student-athlete at school; school and sports, but really gymnastics was my main focus.”

Dunne added that finishing her academic and athletic commitments has opened the door to exploring new creative opportunities. “And now that I’m done with school, I have more time to lean into the acting stuff and the creative side of things,” she continued.

The influencer and former gymnast had already hinted at potential screen projects in May 2025 while speaking on the red carpet at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Launch Party. During the appearance, Livvy Dunne said that fans should “stay tuned” for additional “on-screen” work in the future.

The upcoming reboot of Baywatch will feature several new additions to the cast alongside Livvy Dunne. Model Brooks Nader will portray Selene, a series regular described as the sharp-tongued captain of the Zuma Beach lifeguards.

According to the character description, Selene’s approach to rescue operations often clashes with that of Baywatch captain Hobie Buchannon. Stephen Amell will play Hobie Buchannon, whose decision to bring his daughter, Charlie, portrayed by Jessica Belkin, onto the team intensifies his rivalry with Selene.

The ensemble cast also includes Noah Beck as series regular Luke, Shay Mitchell as Trina, Hassie Harrison as Nat, and Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad. In a nod to longtime fans of the franchise, David Chokachi will return, reprising his original role as Cody Madison.

The original Baywatch series first premiered in 1989 on NBC before later continuing in syndication for a total of 10 seasons. The franchise went on to produce the 2003 reunion special Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding, which aired on Fox Broadcasting Company, as well as the short-lived spinoff Baywatch Nights and the 2017 film adaptation Baywatch (2017 film) starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.
