Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay says Brooklyn Beckham’s efforts to establish independence within his marriage to Nicola Peltz Beckham have played a role in the ongoing public tension between the 26-year-old and his parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham.
Speaking to The Sun while promoting his forthcoming Netflix series Being Gordon Ramsay, in an interview published Friday, Ramsay described the situation as complicated and deeply emotional. “It’s hard, isn’t it, when you’re infatuated? Love is blind. They say it for that reason,” he said.
He added that Brooklyn is “desperate to stand on his own two feet. He’s desperate to forge his own way, and I respect that from Brooklyn. It’s such a good thing to do. But remember where you came from. And honestly, one day you’re not going to have your mum and dad, and you need to understand that.”
Ramsay also addressed Victoria Beckham’s reaction to the family dispute, saying, “Victoria is upset, and with every right to be upset.” He noted his familiarity with the family dynamic and emphasized David Beckham’s bond with his eldest son. “I know 24/7, seven days a week, just how much David loves Brooklyn,” he said.
The chef added that he has stayed in touch with Brooklyn, describing their relationship as warm and supportive. “I love him. His heart is incredible,” Ramsay said, noting that they have “messaged a little bit.”
Despite the current estrangement, Ramsay expressed confidence that reconciliation is possible, stating, “Time’s going to be the best healer, and David will absolutely get that relationship back on track.”

He continued, “I think it’s going to be a matter of time before Brooklyn takes a good look at himself and understands just what his parents mean to him. That penny will drop.”
Ramsay urged reflection and a renewed appreciation of family ties, saying, “I just want Brooklyn Beckham to take a moment to himself. And remember: you’re half mum, half dad. And you’re an amazing young man.” He added, “But, boy, they’ve done more for you than anyone did in your entire life.”
Brooklyn Beckham’s Public Statement And Family Fallout
The remarks follow Brooklyn Beckham’s January social media statement declaring he did not wish to reconcile with his parents.
In that message, he wrote, “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.”
The 26-year-old previously accused his mother of “hijacking” his wedding dance with Nicola Peltz and dancing “inappropriately” with him during their 2022 Palm Beach ceremony. He also alleged his parents created “countless lies” and attempted to “ruin” his relationship with his wife.
In December, Brooklyn unfollowed most of his relatives on social media, a move that preceded his public statement the following month. Representatives for Brooklyn did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding Ramsay’s latest remarks.
