Hollywood is still under lockdown with the ongoing Writer’s Strike. With SAG-AFTRA joining the picket line, all work has come to a standstill at Hollywood. Writers and actors are fighting for their rights and fair pay with the studios.
But the financial crisis is also very real. Since productions of shows have been canceled, the staff are suffering from money problems. Many actors have stepped up to donate for the strikers. And this time Ben Affleck And Matt Damon offered to help as well. So let’s take a look!
Ben Affleck And Matt Damon Offered To Help Jimmy Kimmel’s Team Amid Writers’ Strike
Recently, the top five talk-show hosts started a new podcast titled ‘Strike Force Five’. And Jimmy Kimmel revealed a very heart-touching secret on the very first episode of the podcast. He talked about Ben Affleck and Matt Damon wanting to help the staff of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live‘.
“Ben Affleck and the despicable Matt Damon contacted me and offered to pay our staff for two weeks,” Kimmel said on ‘Strike Force Five’. “A week each, they wanted to pay out of their own pockets. They’re good people,” Jimmy Kimmel revealed.
When fellow host Meyers asked whether Kimmel accepted the generous offer, he said, “I did say no. I felt that that was not their responsibility.” The proceeds from ‘Strike Force Five‘ are intended for the staff of the talk shows.
