Haley Cavinder and Hanna Cavinder have successfully transitioned from college basketball to the business world, capitalizing on their early momentum in the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) era. Reflecting on their journey, the twin sisters said they “struck while iron was hot” following their final NCAA season.
Both 25, the sisters wrapped up their collegiate careers with the Miami Hurricanes before quickly shifting their focus to entrepreneurship. Since then, they have launched multiple ventures, including their fitness app TWOGETHER, and are preparing to debut their tequila brand, Azucar, later this spring.
“Being able to start our own companies is something we’re very passionate about, and we have a baby that’s coming out that soon that we’ve been working on for a while,” Hanna said.
The Cavinders also confirmed that their next project will be in the health, fitness, and supplements space, aligning with the wellness-focused content that has helped them build a loyal following.
They were among the highest-paid college athletes in the wake of the NCAA’s 2021 NIL rule change, reportedly earning seven figures through brand partnerships. Their rise to prominence began during the COVID-19 pandemic, when viral TikTok content propelled them into the spotlight and helped establish a strong, marketable personal brand.
“Being able to dive deeper into our own entrepreneurial spirit is something that we’re super passionate about as well,” Hanna said. “When basketball ended, it’s like, ‘What are you going to do afterwards?’ Especially as female athletes. I think it’s [us] being kind of a blueprint of example.”
They further said, “If you build your brand right in the right way, it can help you so much in the business world. If that’s something you’re very passionate about, and she and I are, it’s about taking advantage of that and striking when it’s hot.”
