Kylie Kelce says her eldest daughter Wyatt’s relationship with gymnastics only began to change once her husband, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, stepped in with what she calls his “dad magic touch.”
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Kylie shared that Wyatt, now 6, is currently “very into gymnastics,” despite initially resisting the sport when she was first enrolled as a toddler. Wyatt began attending classes around age 3, but those early sessions were filled with tears rather than excitement.
“She has been doing it since she was about 3, but it took us a while to actually get her on the mats,” Kylie told PEOPLE. She recalled signing Wyatt up for a multi-week program only to face immediate struggles. “The first three times we showed up, she cried the entire time and wouldn’t go on the mats.”
Kylie admitted that her own encouragement wasn’t enough to shift Wyatt’s mindset. The turning point came when Jason Kelce attended a practice, and Wyatt’s reaction changed instantly.
“He came to one practice, and suddenly Wyatt’s like, ‘Hey, Dad! Look what I can do. I’m on the trampoline.’ And I’m like, ‘She’s never even set foot in that area before,’” Kylie said, laughing as she described the moment.

Since then, Wyatt’s outlook on gymnastics has completely transformed. Kylie said the shift has been lasting, with her daughter now excited and eager to take part in every class.
“It’s definitely in the rear-view mirror, and she now sprints to the little gate and goes into gymnastics,” she said.
Kylie also noted that Wyatt is currently the most athletically involved of her children, fully embracing the sport with enthusiasm and confidence.
The Kelce Family Learned The Power Of Persistence Through Gymnastics

Beyond Wyatt’s athletic development, Kylie Kelce said the gymnastics experience became an early lesson in consistency and follow-through for both parent and child. After one of Wyatt’s tearful early classes, Kylie recalled explaining that quitting was not an option simply because the session was difficult.
“The first time we went in and she (cried), we later got in the car, and I said, ‘Okay, well, we’re coming back next week for gymnastics practice,’ and Wyatt was like, ‘What do you mean? I just cried and didn’t get on the mat,” Kylie said.
She told her daughter, “No, we signed up for 8 weeks, so we’re coming every week, whether you get on the mat or not. I paid for it, we’re coming.”
