Injured Giants Rookie Cam Skattebo Sparks Ringside Chaos During WWE Raw at Madison Square Garden

An otherwise typical Monday Night Raw at Madison Square Garden took a stunning turn when New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo, sidelined by a season-ending leg injury, erupted from the audience. Skattebo, who was seated ringside with fellow Giants players and comedian Andrew Schulz for what was billed as John Cena’s final Raw appearance, donned a Rangers jersey as he watched the action.

However, when WWE’s notorious Judgment Day faction began to taunt the group, the injured RB shot to his feet. A brief but intensely physical scuffle ensued, with Skattebo proving he hasn’t lost any of his fire. The unexpected crossover instantly made headlines, creating a massive buzz among both NFL and professional wrestling fans.

During a live segment on the show’s main Netflix broadcast, Judgment Day members Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor, and JD McDonagh approached Schulz and Skattebo after their team lost a six-man tag match against the trio of Rey Mysterio, Sheamus, and John Cena.

‘Dirty Dom’ taunted Skattebo directly by saying, “The only good thing that’s coming out of New York City is standing right in front of you,” before challenging how long New York had seen a true champion, urging Skattebo to counter.

The escalating tension exploded when Dominik shoved Schulz as he attempted to grab the microphone. This act prompted Skattebo and the Giants to erupt from their seats. Skattebo immediately targeted Mysterio, but when McDonagh rushed in to help, Skattebo made the biggest physical statement of the night: a fierce shove that sent McDonagh flying over the ringside barrier.

With the confrontation turning into a full-scale brawl, the rest of the Giants squad, including Roy Robertson-Harris, Darius Alexander, and Dalen Cambre, joined the melee, unloading swings against the wrestling stars in an unforgettable ringside altercation.

What added weight to the moment was that this marked the first time Skattebo was seen standing on his injured leg since his season-ending injury. He had dislocated his ankle and fractured his fibula during Week 8 against the Eagles.

Skattebo’s injury was more severe than initially reported. In addition to the dislocated ankle, he sustained a fibula fracture and ruptured the deltoid ligament, per multiple sources. He underwent emergency surgery in Philadelphia, with the team confirming that “all went well.” Because the injury involved an open wound, doctors acted quickly to prevent infection.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll called it “a long road ahead” for Skattebo’s rehab. According to medical experts, he will likely avoid putting weight on the injured leg for at least six weeks, with a return to more serious physical training only coming later.

Cam Skattebo will not play again in the 2025 season as he continues his recovery from surgery to repair his dislocated ankle. The injury was a significant setback for the New York Giants, and it removed the rookie from action during an important stretch of the schedule. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport confirmed that the procedure was completed successfully and that Skattebo will shift his focus to the long rehabilitation process.

USA Today reported that the injury is not expected to hinder him going into the 2026 season. Medical projections place his recovery period at four to six months following surgery. This window is in line with the timing of the Giants’ offseason program. It gives Skattebo a strong chance of being available for organized team activities and further offseason work as long as he progresses without complications.

Rapoport said, “If all is good and clean and the surgery went as well as everyone believes, he should be back with no issues for next year.”

He continued, “It is a gruesome injury, but the recovery is actually not as bad. We have seen several others with similar injuries come back and play the next year. Dak Prescott comes to mind. So, it is 2026 for Cam Skattebo.”

The Giants are working to snap a five-game losing streak as they prepare for their Week 12 matchup with the Detroit Lions. Skattebo will remain focused on completing each phase of his rehabilitation to return fully healthy for the start of the 2026 regular season.
