“I Didn’t Think I’d Be Alive in 2025,” Says Jeff Hardy After Iconic Match

Jeff Hardy made a candid revelation following the iconic tag team match at TNA Bound For Glory 2025. Alongside his brother Matt Hardy, he reflected on the physical and mental challenges they faced throughout their long wrestling careers. Their victory over The Dudley Boyz marked an emotional milestone, not only because it highlighted a legendary rivalry but also because it symbolized their remarkable endurance.

The match also featured the retirement of The Dudley Boyz, a tag team who handed over their boots to The Hardy Boyz in a traditional wrestling gesture that signifies the end of their career. This moment celebrated the legacy of two of wrestling’s most influential teams.

In a conversation with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, Jeff and Matt Hardy talked about mortality and their good health. Matt Hardy discussed the impact of aging and previous physical abuse, stating, “The biggest difference between then and now is Father Time. The amount of abuse we’ve put our bodies through.”

Jeff Hardy emphasized his survival by adding, “It was madness back in the early 2000s.” Hardy added, “Tell you the truth, I didn’t think I’d be alive in 2025,” acknowledging the toll wrestling has taken on him since the chaotic early 2000s.

Jeff Hardy credits cold plunges as a key part of his health regimen, which helps him stay physically and mentally fit. This disciplined approach contrasts with his earlier years, which he described as chaotic. The brothers also reflected on their long-standing chemistry with The Dudley Boyz.

Matt Hardy said, “We created so many special moments over so many years. We’ve worked so closely together that that chemistry is closely ingrained in all of us.” The retirement of Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley after their final match marked the end of an era.

By leaving their boots in the ring, they passed a symbol of legacy to The Hardys, who now hold the TNA and NXT World Tag Team Championships.
