Kayla Nicole is looking back at her past relationship with Travis Kelce and offering a perspective on why it ended. During a TikTok Live conversation on Thursday with Love Island star Ace Greene, the fitness influencer was asked when she was last in a relationship.
“Probably, like, three years ago now. It’s been a long time,” she said, according to TMZ. Nicole and Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, ended their on-and-off relationship in May 2022 after five years together.
The former couple had publicly dated since 2017 and were last photographed together at events in 2022, including the NFL Honors ceremony earlier that year. Speaking further about the breakup, Nicole said, “Who knows? Could be compatibility issues, right person, wrong time.”
Nicole also addressed dating more broadly during the livestream and shared what she now considers essential qualities in a partner. “It’s kinda sad because I feel like dating in 2026 is just hard all the way around. I feel like the bar is in hell. So, my new list of requirements is: having a job — that’s at the top of the list.”

As fans already know, Kelce has since moved on. He began dating pop star Taylor Swift in 2023, and the couple became engaged in August 2025 after two years together. Swift publicly supported Kelce during Super Bowl LVIII, where the Chiefs secured a championship victory in February 2024.

In recent months, Kayla Nicole and Taylor Swift have drawn attention for apparent references to one another in their respective projects. Swift released a music video for Opalite earlier this month, which some viewers interpreted as containing a subtle nod to Nicole.
Nicole later appeared in a 2026 Super Bowl advertisement for the sports app Sleeper. Moreover, she also made headlines last October when she recreated He Wasn’t Man Enough For Me by Toni Braxton for Halloween. The video circulated widely online and prompted discussion among fans about its timing in relation to Kelce’s engagement.
