As the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy continue, figures from entertainment and sports are sharing their own athletic ambitions while following the international competition.
During the NBA All-Star Legendary Tip-Off Celebration on February 13 at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, actor and comedian Keegan-Michael Key reflected on which winter sports might best suit him if he ever pursued Olympic-level training.
“I think I might be able to medal in cross-country skiing or biathlon,” Key exclusively told E! News’ Daryn Carp. “I would need some practice, (but) I’m not a bad shot.”
He linked that confidence to his personal background, citing experience with endurance skiing earlier in life while acknowledging limits in other disciplines. “I can’t do luge,” he continued. “But biathlon, I think. I cross-country skied a lot when I was a kid—no downhill, I can’t do the moguls—but I was pretty good at cross-country. It’s all about the quads.”
Meanwhile, television personality Jonathan Scott followed the action remotely while reflecting on which Olympic sports might best match their strengths. Scott joked that his brother, Drew Scott, would be his toughest competition, adding that he might have the edge in sports like hockey, while Drew would likely excel in basketball.

Interest in the Winter Olympics extends well beyond a single attendee. Musician Usher, gymnast Simone Biles, and actor Michelle Yeoh were among those who traveled to Italy to watch elite athletes compete for medals in person.
Team USA Ice Dancers Decline Olympic Appeal After Controversial Judging Decision In Milan

Team USA ice dancers Madison Chock and Evan Bates will not file an appeal following the disputed scoring result in the ice dance final at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Games, according to USA Today Sports. The American pair won silver after finishing behind France’s gold medalists in Milan.
In a statement, Matt Farrell said, “There has been a lot of thoughtful and at times emotional discussion about the ice dance competition in Milan. Working together with Madi and Evan after the Games, we will have thoughtful and intentional discussions about the best way to support them and the future of the sport. For now, we plan to join them in supporting the success of U.S. Figure Skating in Milan.”
The 24-hour window to appeal the result has passed. U.S. Figure Skating could still send a letter of concern to the International Skating Union, but no athlete-filed appeal is planned.
Bates later said, “We felt like we delivered our absolute best performance that we could have. It was our Olympic moment. It felt like a winning skate to us, and that’s what we’re going to hold on to.”
