Luka Dončić has brought in high-profile attorney Laura Wasser as he pushes back against a child support petition filed by his ex-fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, in Los Angeles County.
Court records indicate that Wasser, widely known as the ‘Disso Queen’ for representing A-list clients such as Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, and Jennifer Garner, joined Dončić’s legal team shortly after Goltes filed for support earlier this month.
In one of her first moves, Wasser filed a motion seeking to quash or dismiss the petition. In the filing submitted on Friday, she argued that neither Dončić, Goltes, nor their two children reside in California. She also noted that Dončić had already initiated a family law case in Slovenia in February 2026, addressing both custody and support.
Wasser wrote that “Slovenia is the appropriate forum for adjudication of this dispute” and claimed the California filing represents “a clear attempt to forum shop and avail herself of the generous amounts of child support for which California is well-known.”

The filing further alleges that Anamaria Goltes has withheld the children from Dončić, prompting him to pursue legal action in Slovenia. It also states that Dončić “consistently has paid all of the children’s expenses and additional support to Anamaria in Slovenia.” A hearing on the motion is scheduled for May 2026.

Luka Dončić and Anamaria Goltes began dating as teenagers and later had two daughters, Gabriela, born in November 2023, and Olivia, born in December 2025.
Speculation about their separation surfaced in January 2026 when Goltes shared a message referencing personal “ups and downs” without mentioning Dončić. He confirmed the breakup on March 10 after the child support filing became public.
“I love my daughters more than anything, and I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn’t been possible, so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement,” Dončić said in a statement to ESPN.
He added, “Everything I do is for my daughters’ happiness and I will always fight to be with them and give them the best life I can.”
In a declaration attached to the recent court filing, Dončić stated he “happily” pays “all of our children’s expenses in Slovenia” and said he offered to bring them to California during the basketball season at his expense, which he said Goltes declined.

Attorneys for both sides did not respond to requests for comment. The court’s decision on jurisdiction and dismissal will determine where the custody and support matters proceed.
