Marc Anthony has weighed in on the ongoing rift within the Beckham family, calling the very public fallout “extremely unfortunate” while steering clear of addressing specific allegations connected to Brooklyn Beckham’s 2022 wedding.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the singer emphasized his deep, longtime bond with David Beckham and Victoria Beckham and their children. “I have nothing to say about what’s happening with the family. They’re a wonderful, wonderful family. I’ve known them since before the kids were born. I’m godfather to Cruz. I’m really close to the family,” Anthony said.
He went on to add, “But I have nothing to say about what happened there. It’s extremely unfortunate how it’s playing out — but (how it’s playing out) is hardly the truth.”
Anthony’s remarks come after Brooklyn Beckham publicly confirmed that he is estranged from his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, and alleged that they have attempted to undermine his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.
The dispute has increasingly played out in the public eye, with Brooklyn airing grievances on social media and pointing to tensions surrounding his wedding as a source of the family divide.

Brooklyn Beckham’s Wedding Dance Claims Renew Scrutiny Of 2022 Celebration

The renewed attention on Marc Anthony’s role stems from Brooklyn Beckham’s allegation that a planned first dance with Nicola was interrupted when his mother joined him onstage.
Brooklyn claimed, “My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance, to a romantic love song… She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”
According to Brooklyn’s account, the moment occurred in front of hundreds of wedding guests after Anthony called him to the stage, leading to embarrassment and emotional distress for the couple. He has also stated that he does not wish to reconcile with his parents and believes they attempted to undermine his marriage before the ceremony.
