Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes and his girlfriend, LSU gymnast Olivia “Livvy” Dunne, are spending their offseason exploring Europe. The couple, who began dating in 2023, have been traveling across several destinations while sharing fun updates with fans on TikTok and Instagram. Because of Skenes’ towering height, he’s had some trouble navigating Europe’s older buildings, where doorways are much shorter than those in the United States. Dunne playfully documented his struggles in a TikTok video, showing him bumping into door frames, a clip that quickly had fans laughing and sharing across social media.

On Saturday, Dunne posted a TikTok video with the caption, “POV: your bf is 6’7 in Europe.” In the clip, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover star filmed Skenes trying to fit through narrow doorways and even hitting his head on a ceiling. Her followers flooded the comments section with lighthearted jokes.
Skenes, listed at 6 feet 6 inches on his Major League Baseball profile, recently completed his second season with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 23-year-old pitcher was selected first overall in the 2023 MLB Draft and has already become one of the league’s brightest young players.
Moreover, he finished the 2024 season with a 1.97 earned run average, becoming the first qualified pitcher aged 23 or younger to record an ERA under 2.00 since Dwight Golden’s 1.53 in 1985, according to MLB statistics.

Reflecting on his performance, Skenes said in September, “It’s cool. I don’t come into the year with any numerical goals or anything like that, any stat goals, but it’s a product of doing what you’re supposed to. Probably could have been lower, probably could have been higher, whatever. Pretty cool.”
Before traveling overseas, Skenes and Dunne celebrated her 23rd birthday in New York. Since then, Dunne has continued to post updates from their European getaway, showing scenic views and moments of laughter.
