President Donald Trump is set to bypass the official Super Bowl LX halftime show, opting instead to watch an alternative performance headlined by Kid Rock while hosting a Super Bowl viewing party at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the plan on Thursday, February 5, noting that the president has no intention of tuning in to the halftime show led by Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny. “I think the President would much prefer a Kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny, I must say that,” Leavitt said.
Super Bowl LX is set for Sunday, February 8, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where the New England Patriots will face the Seattle Seahawks. The game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET and air on NBC and Peacock.
Trump has previously voiced strong criticism of the NFL’s decision to select Bad Bunny as the halftime headliner. “I’ve never heard of him,” Trump told Newsmax in October 2025. “I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s, like, crazy.” He went on to add, “I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”

In an interview published by The New York Post on January 23, Trump said the inclusion of Bad Bunny and Green Day in Super Bowl programming factored into his decision not to attend the game in person. “I’m anti-them,” Trump said. “I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.”
Turning Point USA Organizes Separate Halftime Broadcast Featuring Kid Rock And Country Artists
Turning Point USA has announced plans for an alternative Super Bowl halftime broadcast headlined by Kid Rock, with performances from Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert, and Gabby Barrett.
The event is being positioned as a separate viewing option from the official halftime show and will stream across YouTube, X, Rumble, TBN, and Real America’s Voice.
The broadcast will also honor the legacy of Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in 2025 and had long been outspoken about Super Bowl halftime programming.
Andrew Kolvet, a close associate of Kirk, said the effort reflects a larger cultural mission inspired by Kirk’s views. “Charlie was so fixated and obsessed with the halftime show, he understood that it was ground zero … the frontline fight (in changing culture),” Kolvet told The New York Post.

He added that Kirk’s goal was to “win the culture.” According to Kolvet, organizers intentionally set out to create a family-friendly alternative to the traditional halftime spectacle. “So we were like let’s go. Let’s do it. Let’s put on a show that the whole family can enjoy, that’ll be awesome, well-produced, excellent, big-name songs, big-name artists.”
Vice President JD Vance and evangelist Franklin Graham have also publicly backed the Turning Point broadcast, pointing to its emphasis on faith, family and patriotism.
