Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua publicly responded to Sydney Sweeney’s comments about her ideal partner after an interview excerpt featuring the actress circulated on social media.
The 28-year-old outlined the qualities she looks for in a romantic partner during a Cosmopolitan cover story published on January 29. In the interview, the actress said, “(My type is) athletic and outgoing and funny. I’m a sporty girl, so someone needs to be able to climb a mountain with me, go skydiving with me. And someone who loves their family. I love myself a man.”
Complex later shared the quote on X, where it caught the attention of Nacua. The NFL player retweeted the post with a brief response, writing, “Love skydiving,” a remark that appeared to reference one of the activities Sweeney specifically mentioned.

Nacua most recently played the 2025 NFL season with the Rams and has remained active on social media throughout the year. He was previously in a relationship with Hallie Aiono. The former couple share a son, Kingston, and reportedly ended their relationship in 2025.
Sweeney, meanwhile, has continued promoting multiple film and television projects while also opening up about her personal life in recent months. In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, she reflected on her past relationship and the importance of maintaining privacy while navigating fame.

“I was in a relationship for a very long time, for seven and a half years, and I never talked about it,” Sweeney said. “I was very private. No one would ever see us. I think it’s important to have some things for myself. I understand that I’m a public person, but I’m still in my 20s. I’m still figuring out love, and it’s hard to do that with millions of people who have their own opinions of what that looks like.”
A Look at Sydney Sweeney’s Recent Relationship History And Career Focus

Us Weekly confirmed in March 2025 that Sweeney had called off her engagement to Jonathan Davino. The actress later shared her perspective on independence and relationships during the same Cosmopolitan interview, emphasizing her confidence and self-reliance.
“I am a boss in my life. I take control. I go after what I want. I am confident, and I am successful, and I don’t actually need a man. I’ve got myself,” Sweeney said. “I’ve got a team of bada** women. That is very intimidating to a lot of guys, so a guy needs to be able to stand in that with me. It takes a very specific person who can handle the world that comes with me.”
While Sweeney has not publicly confirmed whether she is currently dating anyone, a source told Us Weekly in November 2025 that she had been spending time with Scooter Braun. According to the insider, “Things are getting serious, and it’s very real.”
