For the first time, she says, her demanding schedule no longer felt like a barrier, but something her relationship could grow alongside.

In one of the episode’s most candid moments, Swift directly reflects on how life on tour has long strained her personal relationships. “Relationships on tour has always been something I’ve really struggled with because it’s always felt like the tour was taking away from the relationship,” she said.
The 36-year-old added, “Somehow, I was not able to do both and feel like I was nurturing both at the same time, even though I would try and try and try and try.”
She then explains why her relationship with Kelce felt fundamentally different, pointing to the rare alignment in their careers. Kelce is a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, while Swift routinely performs in NFL stadiums during her tours.
“We both have jobs where we go out in NFL stadiums, and we entertain people for three and a half hours,” Swift said. “His with considerably more violence than mine, but he’s not in heels. But it’s our passion. We’ve been chasing this since we were little kids.”

She added that she had never expected to meet someone whose career trajectory so closely mirrored her own. “I don’t think I ever thought I’d meet a guy who had that same trajectory,” Swift said. “And I’ve realized that with this person in my life, that this was the right fit for me. You can have the two passions coexist, and they actually fuel each other.”

The couple announced their engagement on August 26, after two years of dating, sharing the news through a joint Instagram post. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” Swift wrote in the caption. Reflecting on how it all began, Swift marveled at the unlikely origins of their love story. “First of all, if you ever would have told me that the most meaningful relationship I would ever have would start with a man saying that he was butthurt that I didn’t want to meet him, like, unbelievable.
