Titans’ Jeffery Simmons Targeted In Home Burglary While Team Faces 49ers

Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons was targeted in a home burglary while his team was in California for a regular-season NFL game, according to reports. The incident took place Sunday night as the Titans faced the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

According to TMZ Sports, Simmons said the burglary occurred around 7:30 PM on Sunday while the Titans were on the West Coast. Surveillance footage shared by Simmons shows two men approaching the back door of his home before forcing their way inside. The video appears to capture the suspects breaking in and tampering with or knocking down the security camera during the process.

The Tennessee Titans confirmed that the organization is working closely with local law enforcement and assisting in efforts to recover the stolen property. The team also verified that no one was inside the home at the time of the break-in, a detail Simmons echoed personally.

Reacting to the incident on social media, Simmons wrote, “All that materialistic s*** you can have, but this is crazy.”

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) later provided additional details, reporting that six suspects were captured on video surveillance smashing a glass window at Simmons’ residence.

Police confirmed that “multiple items were taken.” Simmons officially filed a report after returning from California at approximately 1:00 AM local time. In a statement to media outlets, authorities said, “Several components of the MNPD’s Investigative Services Bureau are actively working this case.”

Despite the off-field incident, Simmons still made his presence felt on game day. Although the Titans fell to San Francisco 37–24, the defensive lineman recorded a sack, bringing his season total to nine, according to official NFL statistics.

Jeffery Simmons reached a rare offensive milestone during Tennessee’s Week 15 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, recording the first touchdown of his NFL career in the fourth quarter at Levi’s Stadium. The score came on a 3-yard reception, as quarterback Cam Ward evaded pressure and dumped the ball off to Simmons in the flat.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Simmons emphasized that the play was not improvised. He explained that the Titans had been working on the design for several weeks, though Ward had never actually thrown him the ball during practice reps. When Ward scrambled across his body, Simmons adjusted his route on the fly, focusing on securing the catch rather than immediately turning upfield.

Following the milestone, Simmons shared his excitement on Instagram, captioning the post: “Them weapons may form, but they won’t prosper! God is the greatest, and I’m his son! This IS MY WINNING SEASON! #Grateful.”

The touchdown stood out as one of Tennessee’s defining moments in the 28–24 loss. Seeing a defensive tackle line up as an eligible receiver showcased Simmons’ athleticism and underscored the coaching staff’s creativity in utilizing him in unconventional roles. The play quickly went viral on social media, drawing praise and excitement from teammates and fans alike.
