NFL star Trent McDuffie said meeting Taylor Swift left a lasting impression during his time with the Kansas City Chiefs. Speaking to ESPN Los Angeles on March 12, the 25-year-old described Swift as welcoming and attentive when they first met while he was a member of the Chiefs roster.
“She is a very special woman. Down to earth, genuine,” McDuffie said in the interview. “I remember when I first met her, there was a little bit of nerves, but she gave me a big hug. Knew my name, knew my position, knew football.”
McDuffie recalled being surprised by how familiar Swift seemed with him and the sport. “I was like, ‘Wow, this is for real. This is a moment I’ll remember forever. Taylor Swift and I are just actually having a normal conversation.’ It was really cool.”

The cornerback played alongside tight end Travis Kelce from 2022 through 2025. Earlier this month, the Chiefs traded McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams, where he finalized a four-year $124 million contract extension on March 8. Despite leaving Kansas City, McDuffie said he still holds respect for both Swift and Kelce.
