Tim Walz has become the talk of the town after his nomination for the position of Vice President by Kamala Harris. After Tim was selected as her running mate, social media users started to name various actors to play his role during ‘Saturday Night Live’.
At the top, it was Steve Martin who looked like a doppelgänger of Walz. He has the same wispy white hair, glasses, and a sweet smile. But Martin feels the role should be taken up by someone more appropriate and perfect for it.
Steve Martin Thinks There Are Better Actors Than Him For The Role Of Tim Walz
Democratic nominee Tim Walz has gained a lot of attention and the ‘Saturday Night Live‘ producer must have been listening to all of this because he called Steve Martin for an offer for the same role. But the comedian politely declined his deal.
Martin told The Times, “I wanted to say no and, by the way, he wanted me to say no. “I said, ‘Lorne, I’m not an impressionist. You need someone who can nail the guy.’ I was picked because I have gray hair and glasses.”
Maya Rudolph would be reprising her role for Kamala Harris, which she also performed during the Democratic presidential primaries in ‘SNL’ in 2019 and later when Kamala Harris called Joe Biden as her running mate. Moreover, she moved the production of her show ‘Loot’ from January to August to play the role of Harris.

Steve Martin Isn’t Willing To Entertain Long-Term, Impressionist Roles
The 78-year-old actor declined the role because he knew if he accepted it, then he would be tied to the role for years. He said, “It’s ongoing. It’s not like you do it once and get applause and never do it again. Again, they need a real impressionist to do that. They’re gonna find somebody really, really good. I’d be struggling.”
Moreover, Steve has also previously joked about his appearance with Tim Walz. Referring to the comedy tour, he and Martin Scott embarking on next month, he wrote on threads, “I just learned that Tim Walz wants to go on the road with Marty Short.”
