Marvel and DC fans have a lot to look forward to as the two comic book giants are teaming up for another historic crossover event. While these two publishers have long been considered rivals, their occasional team-ups have been some of the most thrilling moments in comic book history.
And now, for the first time in decades, fans will be getting a new installment in their legendary collaborations. Moreover, just like their previous crossovers, the news has fans on their toes.
A New Era For Marvel And DC Crossovers

The last major crossover between Marvel and DC was JLA/Avengers, a four-part event. That series marked the end of an era when inter-company crossovers were semi-regular events. However, now, a brand-new Marvel/DC event is officially in the works.

According to ComicsBeat, DC Editor-in-Chief Marie Javins and Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief CB Cebulski took the stage at the ComicsPRO retailer summit in Glendale, California, to announce the upcoming crossover. Unlike past major events, this one will take place across two one-shots.
While exact details are still under wraps, the mere confirmation of this event has sent shockwaves through the industry. Fans have already begun speculating on which iconic characters will clash or team up. The idea of seeing Spider-Man alongside Batman, or Wonder Woman is enough to intrigue fans.
Marvel Isn’t Too Interested In Doing Crossovers

Marvel and DC’s relationship has been complicated over the years. While they’ve collaborated in the past, both companies have also been hesitant to work together too frequently. Marvel Comics VP and Executive Editor Tom Brevoort previously touched on this.

He explained Marvel’s cautious approach to crossovers. “Marvel isn’t all that interested in doing a lot of crossovers,” Brevoort wrote. “DC, for the last several years, has seemed much more open to doing them. But whenever Marvel does participate in one, there tends to be some reason for this internally, some objective that making a crossover helps us to achieve.”
Whatever that reason may be, the timing of this crossover couldn’t be better. With major superhero movies like ‘Superman’ and ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ hitting theaters in July 2025, all eyes are already on them. Moreover, fans are hopeful that both Marvel/DC and DC/Marvel will release on time and meet expectations.
