While talking to Deadline, the ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ star confirmed that he will be filming ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ this summer before moving on to ‘Secret Wars’ in 2026. This revelation puts to rest speculation that both films would be shot back-to-back.
“We shoot in London through the summer and then the following summer we shoot the next one [Avengers: Secret Wars]. It’s going to be a full slate,” Mackie shared. Additionally, this also confirms the actor’s involvement in both of the films. Moreover, this timeline suggests that ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ will be an even bigger production than expected.
Anthony Mackie Hints How The Original Avengers Will Return
Mackie’s Deadline interview wasn’t the only time he gave fans something to talk about. While promoting ‘Captain America: Brave New World‘, he was asked what excites him most about ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, and his response may have given away more than he intended.

With Robert Downey Jr.’s rumored return, whispers of Chris Evans potentially reprising his role, and reports that Scarlett Johansson may be involved in some capacity, Mackie’s comment only adds fuel to the fire. Of course, he could simply be referring to the general idea of legacy characters passing the torch.
