The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been taking its time adding to its roster of heroes. However, in terms of sheer, uncontrollable power, no one comes close to Bruce Banner and his alter ego.
With the franchise heading to its most ambitious crossover to date, ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ might finally provide Hulk with the attention he has long been due by making him more than just one Avenger.
‘Secret Wars’ Could Deliver The Hulk Moment MCU Fans Have Waited Years For

‘Secret Wars’ storyline is best suited to release a variety of versions of the same character. The comic event flourished on the concept of variants, different versions of heroes that were drawn across realities and thrown into a single huge battle. Although the original narrative was more focused on Thor variants constituting the Thor Corps, the MCU has a chance to reverse the idea.

Rather than a battlefield with gods wielding hammers, envision a battlefield with gamma-powered monsters. The possibilities are limitless, whether it is savage, rage-fueled Hulks or more intelligent, even twisted ones. Characters like the Devil Hulk, Immortal Hulk, or even weird hybrids like Hulkpool might finally see the light of day.
It would not be just fan service but a visual spectacle that demonstrates how far the MCU has come in embracing its comic book origins. And to tell the truth, it is a pleasure to watch several Hulks on the screen at the same time. That is the type of mayhem that fans have been longing to see.
Why Hulk Makes More Sense Than Thor

Thor has been a strong yet mostly self-reliant hero in the MCU. His plot lines frequently leave him off the planet and the Avengers, and he seems more like a galactic vagrant than a key member of the group. Hulk, however, is ingrained within the heart of the MCU. Bruce Banner has played a significant role in the development of the Avengers.

He has been both their greatest strength and their greatest threat. That two-sidedness, hero and possible danger, is what makes Hulk the ideal candidate. It is also a natural storytelling progression. The MCU has already introduced other gamma-powered characters, hinting that Hulk’s world is much bigger than initially imagined.
It would be natural to take that and make it a full-fledged Hulk Corps. And then there is the emotional aspect. Banner has been attempting to tame the Hulk over the years. What happens when he’s faced with versions of himself that never found that balance? That internal conflict could be just as compelling as the external battle.
At this point, nothing is confirmed. However, if ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is interested in taking things to the next level and creating something people will remember, making Hulk the focus of a multiversal storm could be its most brilliant idea so far.
