Taylor Swift’s fans have had several reasons to celebrate in the past few months. With her Eras Tour getting tremendous responses, and her dating life with Travis Kelce taking off, all her fans are on cloud nine. As if that wasn’t enough, a rumor suggesting her on-screen debut with Marvel’s ‘Deadpool and Wolverine‘ also set the fans’ excitement high.
The rumor gained prominence after ‘Deadpool‘ star Ryan Reynolds and the creators of the film did not give straight responses to questions about Taylor’s cameo in the film. However, to fans’ dismay, the speculation is a mere rumor, and Taylor would in fact not be seen on-screen anytime soon.
Taylor Swift Will Not Be A Part Of ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’
Amid the heavy buzz around Taylor Swift gracing the screen in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that the pop sensation would not be a part of the upcoming Marvel film. The news came shortly after IMAX teased Taylor’s massive Eras Tour in a new poster showing Deadpool and Wolverine holding hands with friendship bracelets.
Fans have been speculating about Swift’s involvement in the film for months, with some also theorizing that she would play the comic character Dazzler. The rumors skyrocketed last October when Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman were seen at a Kansas City Chiefs game with director Shawn Levy and Swift together, who was supporting her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Swift also happens to be a close friend of Reynolds and has good connections with Jackman, and Levy, which further fueled these speculations. While Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, are longtime friends of Swift, Levy has appeared in her self-directed ‘All Too Well‘ music video. However, their game-day appearance together was purely coincidental.

Shawn Levy And Ryan Reynolds Teased Fans With The Possibility Of Taylor Swift’s Cameo In ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’
Since they were spotted together with Taylor Swift, both Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds have chosen to remain tight-lipped about Taylor’s cameo in the film. They have neither confirmed nor denied Swift’s role.
“I regret that I was not quicker to shut it down the first time, so I’m going to default to my very true situation, which is as much as we love each other, the fear of death is so intense in me regarding Ryan and how he desperately wants to avoid talking about all of these proliferating rumors,” Levy told EW in April.
Reynolds also addressed the rumors in May with Fandango, saying, “Straight up dishonesty isn’t in the cards. Movies like this, there’s so much speculation about so many people that might end up in the film. I saw one that was convinced Elvis was in the movie,” he teased. “Anything can happen and that’s sort of what I love about this universe. Surprises are the essence of Deadpool,” he added.
While Swift isn’t in the film, fans can still anticipate the reunion of Reynolds and Jackman as ‘Deadpool and Wolverine‘ set to hit theaters on July 26.
