‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’: Disney Marketing Head Gives Update About Probable Teaser Release Of The Sequel During NBA Finals On Friday

Stan Lee envisioned the Black Panther character in 1966 during the rise of the Civil Rights Movement. Jack Kirby co-authored the character with Stan Lee, and it debuted in the Fantastic Four Comic. The character was the first African American superhero in the franchise.

The Cinematic Universe debut of the character took place in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ with late Chadwick Boseman. It seeded the idea of a black superhero that pollinated into a mammoth ensemble titled ‘Black Panther.’ Cut to 2022, during the Comic-Con, Kevin Feige presented a glimpse of the sequel ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.’ Since then, the audience was left on tenterhooks for more updates. Nevertheless, the rumor is that the teaser of the sequel is all set to release on Friday during NBA Finals. But, are the rumors true?

Rumors are not always true as the most anticipated Phase IV Marvel film ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ will not have a teaser anytime soon. On Thursday, a Twitter handle that gives updates about the ‘Black Panther 2′ said that the film’s first trailer will be released on Friday. However, Walt Disney Studios’ Marketing President refuted the claim. The first film had its trailer released at the 2018 NBA Finals.

It is the next best step for the marketing team to release the trailer of the film as Thor: Love And Thunder’ is around the corner. Marvel has made amends in its marketing strategy in Phase IV. Earlier, the trailer of any movie was launched six months prior to the film’s release. However, the trailer of ‘Doctor Strange 2′ was released with the Tom Holland starrer ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’ So, fans can expect the trailer to release somewhere around July.

Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman succumbed to cancer in 2020. Letitia Wright, who played Shuri in the first film, talked about the sequel by commemorating the deceased star. She said, “It’s an incredible honor for Chadwick Boseman. November, it couldn’t come sooner so I’m excited for you guys to see it. “We honored him [Chadwick Boseman]  by committing ourselves to the story that he started, the legacy he started with this franchise, and we committed every day to work hard, no matter what circumstances we faced.”

Letitia continued, “And we faced a lot of circumstances. A lot of difficult situations, but we came together as a team. We poured everything into this movie.” The film was shot during the pandemic, they lost the lead actor, and Letitia was embroiled in a controversy due to vaccines. Ryan Coogler is all set to don the hat of the director. Viewers will witness Nakia, Shuri, and Okoye take over the Wakanda battlefield once again. It is still unclear who will step in the shoes of Boseman to play the titular role.
