The marketing team of ‘Deadpool and Wolverine‘ deserve an award for keeping all the plot details of the movie hidden despite such high anticipation around it. Marvel indeed has given the fans some amazing superhero stories, but guarding cameos and information about the film is arguably a more difficult feat they have achieved.
‘Deadpool and Wolverine‘ is expected to be the biggest Marvel release of the year, which will come after a major downfall that the banner has faced over the past year. The stakes are therefore high, with fans expecting a lot of things from the movie. Adding to the excitement is the secrecy filmmakers have maintained until the big day arrives. But a crew has now indicated that the marketing team has gone a step ahead and hinted at fake cameos during the film’s promotion.

Marvel Released Fake Cameos To Protect The Real Plot Of ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’
Marvel has successfully misled fans about ‘Deadpool And Wolverine‘ ahead of the film’s highly anticipated release. In an interview with GamesRadar+, executive producer Wendy Jacobson hinted at the foul play in a subtle yet very obvious manner.
“There may or may not have been some subterfuge and misdirections on the internet or in-person in order to protect the secrecy,” he said.
Wendy continued, “I can neither confirm nor deny any cameos in this film but I will say, in terms of characters that may or may not appear, it was always important to us that nothing in this movie feels like a gimmick.”
He also added that it was a collaborative effort of the whole team to decide the beginning and the ending of the particular character. Hence there was a lot of mind work involved in it.

Director Shawn Levy Also Talked About The Many Cameos In ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’
‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ director Shawn Levy told Entertainment Weekly earlier this month that there are going to be many characters in the movie. He also stressed that the team has been doing their best to keep the characters’ identities hidden.
Levy said they “didn’t want any of the cameos or characters to be the story of the movie. But they are peppered in throughout.” He added, “There’s a lot of characters. “The internet is a delight of rumors about the multitude of character cameos that are in this movie. Some rumors are true, some are way off base.”
One potential cameo that drew a lot of attention from the fans was Taylor Swift, playing Lady Deadpool. The anticipation later switched to Blake Lively and even Ryan Reynolds dressed as the character. But no name has been revealed yet for who’s playing Lady Deadpool.
‘Deadpool And Wolverine‘ will hit the theatres on July 26.
