With just one month remaining until ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ soars into theaters, Marvel fans are buzzing with anticipation. However, new information about the film makes fans a little worried.
Marvel officially announced the movie’s runtime and it looks like the Star-Spangled Avenger’s latest outing will be his shortest on record.
‘Captain America: Brave New World’ Clocks In At Only 118 Minutes
AMC Theaters recently revealed the runtime for the highly anticipated ‘Captain America: Brave New World’, which clocks in at a brisk 1 hour and 58 minutes (118 minutes). This makes it the shortest Captain America movie to date.

To put this into perspective, ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ ran 124 minutes, ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ clocked in at 136 minutes, and ‘Captain America: Civil War’ reached a lengthy 147 minutes. So, the runtime revelation unsurprisingly concerned fans.
With this being Sam Wilson’s first big-screen solo adventure as Captain America a longer runtime was expected. However, shorter runtimes don’t necessarily mean less impactful storytelling. After all, ‘The First Avenger’ delivered a tightly packed origin story in just 124 minutes. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the film has reportedly undergone significant changes in post-production.

“What I was there to do, essentially my role got either repurposed or completely erased.” Rollins shared that he had auditioned for a potential replacement role. However, the studio ultimately decided to head in a different direction. Despite his disappointment, Rollins expressed optimism for the film.
“Marvel knows they’ve got a finished product that hopefully they’re happy with, and hopefully it’s successful. But [Brave New World] will be sans Seth Rollins.” The superstar emphasized he wasn’t trying to mislead fans. “I don’t want those people to waste their time, and I don’t want to misinform anybody,” he said.
