Charlie Cox, the ‘Daredevil‘ we all know and love, talked about a special moment that occurred on the final day of filming ‘Daredevil: Born Again’. He revealed that legendary comic book writer and artist Frank Miller visited the set.
Known for his transformative work on the Daredevil comics, including the seminal ‘Born Again storyline’, Miller’s presence added a sense of history and gravity to the production.
Charlie Cox Claims ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Will Not Follow The Same Path As Frank Miller’s ‘Born Again’
While at a fan expo, Charlie Cox talked about the significance of Frank Miller’s visit and what it meant to don the iconic Daredevil suit alongside Jon Bernthal, reprising his role as the Punisher. “I was filming with Jon Bernthal. There’s me in the Daredevil costume, Jon in the Punisher costume… That was pretty cool.“

While Miller’s involvement in the show’s production remains limited to this visit, Cox made it clear that fans shouldn’t expect a direct adaptation of the ‘Born Again’ comic storyline, despite the show sharing its name. While the Netflix series ‘Daredevil’ previously integrated elements of Born Again into its third season, ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ will chart its own path.
“I don’t think anyone should read into the name as to the kind of stories that we’re going to tell,” Cox explained. The title, he suggested, serves as more of a metaphor for the character’s rebirth in the MCU. Additionally, the Netflix adaptation loosely reimagined key beats from Born Again including Matt Murdock’s downfall and redemption.
However, it also diverged significantly from the comic, omitting key characters like Nuke and Captain America while incorporating others like Bullseye. As Cox pointed out, ‘Born Again’ is less about recreating a specific storyline and more about introducing Daredevil into the broader MCU.

Moreover, it’s safe to say, the show will keep on its brutal and mature take on Matt Murdock’s journey. Fans of the Netflix series will be pleased to see that the gritty tone that defined the original show appears to remain intact.
