With ‘Daredevil: Born Again‘ finally arriving on Disney+, Charlie Cox is back as Matt Murdock, and fans couldn’t be more excited. However, Cox’s last MCU appearance (his guest spot in ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’ remains a hot topic of debate among fans.
Some loved seeing a lighter, more playful version of Daredevil, while others felt it clashed with his darker, grittier past. Now, Cox is addressing those concerns while also teasing the possibility of Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk.
How She-Hulk Fits Into Daredevil’s Timeline

One of the biggest questions surrounding ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is how She-Hulk fits into Matt Murdock’s journey. In ‘She-Hulk’, we saw a more relaxed, charming version of the character, who even got his own rom-com moment with Jennifer Walters. It was a far cry from the brooding, battle-worn vigilante fans were used to.

Cox understands the concern but insists it’s all about adapting to the tone of different projects. “I think it’s a case of whatever was going on with Matt in that period of time,” he told IGN. “He was able to leave that in JFK when he got on the plane.” He even joked, “What happens in L.A. stays in L.A.”
Additionally, for Cox, the shift in tone wasn’t a problem; it was just part of playing the character in different settings. “If you take the Matt Murdock from our show and put him in She-Hulk as-is, he’s probably overly serious and becomes the butt of all jokes. So he’s got to adapt to the tone,” he explained.
Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Wilson Fisk alongside Cox, agreed that this kind of flexibility is part of being in the MCU. “Hawkeye was the same for me,” he noted, referring to his appearance in the 2021 series. Moreover, Cox enjoyed his time on ‘She-Hulk’ and hopes that Maslany’s character will get a chance to step into his world. “Maybe at some point, we’ll get to see the favor returned,” he teased.
Charlie Cox’s Take On Daredevil’s ‘Walk of Shame’

Of all the moments in ‘She-Hulk‘, one that really got fans talking was Daredevil’s infamous “Walk of Shame.” After spending the night with Jen, we see Matt strolling barefoot down the street, carrying his boots with a satisfied grin on his face. The scene was divisive.

Some fans loved seeing a more human, relatable side of Daredevil, while others felt it was too goofy for the character. Additionally, Cox is well aware of the mixed reactions.“It’s funny how many opinions I’ve heard about this little moment in She-Hulk,” he said.
“There’s the Walk of Shame, which was a last-minute idea where they set up a big green screen and just had me walk across it carrying my shoes. And a lot of people don’t like it, and a lot of people love it.” For Cox, it was all in good fun. He’s played Matt Murdock for nearly a decade, and he doesn’t mind shaking things up once in a while.
“I think people forget that in the comics, Daredevil has a sense of humor,” he pointed out. “Yes, he’s a serious guy, but he’s not always brooding in a dark alley.” Regardless of the backlash, Cox had a blast on She-Hulk, from wearing the red-and-yellow suit to trading witty banter with Maslany.
