If Marvel fans believed they were ready to watch ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, Chris Hemsworth would like a word. While promoting his next thriller ‘Crime 101’, the Thor actor could not help but create hype about the next Marvel mega-event.
When questioned about the long-awaited reunion between Thor and Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Hemsworth hinted at it, and it was enough to send fans into a frenzy.
Chris Hemsworth Hints At A Game-Changing MCU Reunion

While talking to Variety, he called the film “incredibly emotional” and “incredibly powerful,” before adding with genuine awe, “It’s going to blow you away. I don’t know how they do it.” That sort of praise is received differently when it comes from one of the pillars of the MCU. The final time Thor and Loki appear together is one of the most heartbreaking moments in the MCU. In ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, Thanos killed Loki in the first few minutes of the film, a cruel farewell that shattered Thor and shocked audiences.

The brothers have since been brought down very different roads by the MCU. Thor continued his journey through Love and Thunder, even becoming a father figure. In the meantime, a different incarnation of Loki escaped in the events of 2012 in ‘The Avengers’ and proceeded to host the Disney+ series ‘Loki’. At the conclusion of the second season, he was not merely surviving; he was keeping the multiverse together.
At this point, both characters are officially cast in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, and the emotional impact cannot be ignored. This isn’t just a reunion. It is a clash of time, trauma, and incomplete dialogues. Hemsworth playfully dodged specifics with a “yes, no, maybe” when asked if their meeting would be a tearjerker. However, the suggestion is obvious. Marvel did not waste this moment in vain.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Is Bigger And More Emotional Than Fans Expect

‘Doomsday’ is proving to be one of the most ambitious crossover events in Marvel. The movie will bring together the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and the Thunderbolts against Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., a casting decision that is already tremendous. There is also a tonal change that is implied in the initial footage.

Thor is more serious, possibly taking a break with the heavier comedic touch of his recent adventures. Such a transformation would make his reunion with Loki even more real and hurtful. These were career-defining roles for Hemsworth and Hiddleston.
The fact that they are on the screen once more after almost ten years has a narrative and nostalgic strength. If ‘Avengers: Endgame’ was a farewell, ‘Doomsday’ could be something different altogether; it could be a reckoning.
