Just when it seemed like the God of Thunder might be nearing the end of his long Marvel journey, Chris Hemsworth has made one thing clear: Thor still has more storms to weather.
While promoting his project, Hemsworth affirmed that his next appearance in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will not be the last time he will be wielding Mjolnir or Stormbreaker.
Chris Hemsworth Hints At A Major MCU Future

In fact, Chris Hemsworth revealed there are plans for him to step back into the role “a couple more times.” For fans who’ve followed Thor’s evolution since 2011, that’s not just exciting, it feels oddly reassuring. Thor is, after all, one of the last original Avengers left. On the Smartless podcast, he revealed that he had been talking to Kevin Feige about the next project, joking that whatever follows ‘Doomsday’ will be meant to be unique and different. The word different is weighty.
“Whatever we do next, we’ve got some ideas to do something pretty unique again and hopefully be different.” One of the most radical reimaginings of the MCU has already been done to Thor. ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ turned the franchise into colorful cosmic comedy, and ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ took that comedy to an even greater extreme, splitting audiences in the process.
Now, it seems like Marvel is again seeking to redefine the character. And perhaps that is what Thor needs. It feels like Marvel realizes that the stakes are greater going into ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, which is likely to conclude the Multiverse Saga. Should Thor survive past ‘Doomsday’, ‘Secret Wars’ seems like a logical next step, or even a launching pad, to whatever follows.
After ‘Doomsday’, Thor Could Enter His Most Unexpected Era

Interestingly, one of the creative changes is already verified: Taika Waititi, the director of ‘Ragnarok’ and ‘Love and Thunder’, will not come back to a fifth installment. That signals a tonal change.
It is yet to be seen whether it will be mythic, emotional, cosmic, or something completely unexpected. ‘Thor 5’ is not yet released, but in case it does, it would probably be released in Phase 7, possibly in a reconfigured MCU after ‘Secret Wars’ teased reset.

There’s something powerful about Hemsworth still feeling energized by the role after more than a decade. Most actors would have dropped out by this time. Instead, he sounds curious. Motivated. Ready to take another dramatic twist.
Thor has lost his kingdom, his family, his hammer, and almost himself, yet he lives. Perhaps that is the reason why audiences continue to turn up. The thunder isn’t fading. If anything, it feels like it’s building again.
