Chris Pratt’s portrayal of Star-Lord has been a fan-favorite in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. Now, after the emotional farewell in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’, speculations about when and where Peter Quill will return are at an all-time high.
Pratt has finally addressed the situation and it looks like Star-Lord will return in the upcoming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ And ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ might be the perfect fit.
Chris Pratt Claims Marvel Will Make Good On Its Promise Of Star-Lord’s Return

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ ended with the message: “The Legendary Star-Lord Will Return”, leaving fans eager to know what’s next. Recently, while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Chris Pratt addressed the possibility of Star-Lord appearing in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.

While he didn’t confirm anything outright, his comments strongly suggest that Marvel Studios has a clear plan for his character. “There was a promise that The Legendary Star-Lord would return… we will make good on that promise!” He told Kimmel. This response is classic Marvel secrecy at play.
He didn’t say yes but he also didn’t say no. What’s clear is that Star-Lord’s return isn’t a matter of “if” but “when.” And given the timeline of the MCU’s future projects, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ or ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ seem like the most logical places for him to show up.
Why Star-Lord Should Be In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

It’s hard to imagine a movie like ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which promises to bring together major MCU heroes, without Star-Lord. Peter Quill has proven himself to be an integral part of crossover films like ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame’. Even though Infinity War showed him making a costly mistake against Thanos, he was still a huge part of the story.

So, not including him in the mix would be bizarre. Additionally, bringing him into ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ would also give him a chance to redeem his mistakes. It makes sense. Moreover, at the end of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’, Star-Lord left his cosmic adventures behind to reconnect with his Earthly roots.
This puts him in an ideal position to be recruited by Sam Wilson’s newly reassembled Avengers team. Marvel has set up many post-credits teases over the years, but not all have been paid off. However, Star-Lord is one of the franchise’s most beloved characters. So, it’s unlikely that Marvel would let his return linger for too long.
