Chris Pratt does not know when Star-Lord will next appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he is quite clear about one thing: there is one multiverse meeting he would like to have before the saga resets the board.
With Marvel rushing towards ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ and an alleged soft reboot, Pratt is already fantasizing about a crossover that fans have long been secretly hoping to see. The actor, who has spent almost ten years as Peter Quill, appears to be less concerned with screen time and more interested in the fun of the ride.
Chris Pratt Thinks MCU Needs A Star-Lord–Deadpool Crossover

When advertising his new sci-fi thriller Mercy, Pratt shared the MCU character he would most like to meet with, and it was Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. His argument was not complex; it was simple admiration and enthusiasm. “I really, really loved Deadpool. I think Ryan GOAT-ed himself with that performance. He really nailed it,” he told SR.

“I would love to just be there for the process, even if I’m just a fly on the wall. So I’m going to say Deadpool.” Pratt was not shy to applaud Reynolds’ work, describing it as iconic and showing sincere excitement to exist in the same creative realm. The concept of Star-Lord clashing with Deadpool’s fourth-wall-breaking anarchy is a natural fit.
The two characters feed off of humor, pop-culture allusions, and a lack of seriousness to the superhero rulebook. Star-Lord and Deadpool are similar in terms of their comedic DNA. However, their personalities are incompatible enough to make their interactions unpredictable. Combine them, and it’s hard not to imagine instant MCU magic or absolute madness.
Could Star-Lord And Deadpool Really Team Up?

Naturally, desiring something in the MCU and getting to do it are two entirely different things. Star-Lord appeared most recently in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3’, which served as a touching farewell for the original crew. James Gunn’s final Marvel outing wrapped things up emotionally, but not definitively. The post-credits scene made it clear: Star-Lord will return.

However, Pratt is not officially cast in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, and the role of Deadpool in anything outside his solo films is still a subject of intense speculation. Although some of the X-Men characters of the Fox era are likely to feature in the upcoming Avengers movies, Star-Lord and Deadpool have not been publicly contracted.
However, that ambiguity has not eliminated anything as we head into ‘Secret Wars’. It is projected that the movie will be a huge crossover of worlds and popular characters. Should Marvel want to play with wild pairings and then restart its continuity, this would be the time to do so. If Star-Lord and Deadpool do cross paths, it won’t just be a cameo; it’ll be a celebration of everything weird, funny, and unexpectedly heartfelt about Marvel’s multiverse.
