Marvel is not waiting to find out how the audience will react to ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ season 2 before planning. As Matt Murdock is about to engage in a brutal battle with Mayor Wilson Fisk on Disney+, the studio is already setting the stage for what follows next, and it is a big deal to the MCU.
In the background, ‘Born Again’ is already becoming the kind of show that no other Disney+ Marvel series has been able to be so far: a multi-season, street-level series with legs.
Daredevil’s Street-Level Saga Isn’t Ending Anytime Soon

Filming for ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ season 3 is planned to start on March 6 . The casting has already begun. And production is seeking background actors to play criminal gang members, dangerous offenders, and threatening officers. The timing is notable. The filming starts only a few weeks before the release of season 2 on March 24.

This is a sign of an uncharacteristic amount of confidence on Marvel’s part. It is not a wait-and-see scenario. Marvel evidently considers Daredevil to be a cornerstone of Disney+. Season 2 will probably be heavy on the growing war between Matt Murdock and Mayor Fisk, which is based on power, control, and corruption of the justice system. By season 3, the aftermath of that war will probably transform Hell’s Kitchen completely, including the role of Matt in it.
Daredevil Is About To Make MCU History

Provided that season 3 goes on schedule, ‘Daredevil: Born Again‘ will be the first live-action MCU Disney+ series to have three seasons. So far, ‘Loki‘ is the only Marvel series to have a second season in the Multiverse Saga. That achievement is eloquent. It indicates that Marvel is changing gears and is no longer investing heavily in one-off events, and is more into serial storytelling with emotional continuity.

‘Daredevil’ has always excelled at this. The prospect of a Defenders reunion is also gaining momentum. Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter, is already confirmed to be coming back in season 3, and Mike Colter has hinted that there are talks underway regarding the future of Luke Cage in the MCU. Should such a reunion occur, it would be a full-circle moment for fans who have been following these characters since the days when Disney+ did not exist.
Although a season 4 has not been announced, the momentum of ‘Born Again’ seems to indicate that Marvel is finally willing to allow one of its most sinister heroes to remain with it permanently. For Daredevil fans, that patience might finally be paying off.
