Tatum’s long-held desire to portray Gambit in a standalone film remains strong. Despite the previous project’s demise due to Disney’s acquisition of Fox, Tatum has expressed his continued interest in bringing the character to life on the big screen.

Previously, while talking to Variety, Tatum shared his hope that his dream will become a reality. “Of course, I’ve said it. I’ve been saying I want it for the last 10 years,” Tatum said. “It’s in Bob Iger and Kevin Feige’s hands. I pray to God,” he added.
Additionally, while talking to Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show he expressed that he would “Kill Kittens” and do a lot of horrible things to get a solo Gambit film. Ultimately, the decision rests with Marvel Studios executives Bob Iger and Kevin Feige.
