After her shocking death in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been asking the same question for years: Is Scarlet Witch truly gone for good?
Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff became one of the most complex and beloved characters in the MCU. She evolved from a grief-stricken Avenger to one of the franchise’s most powerful beings. Now, the actress has finally spoken about her MCU future.

Despite her humorous confession, Olsen’s admiration for the character of Wanda Maximoff is undeniable. In an interview with THR, she reflected on how deeply she connected with the role and how it transformed her career. “It is something that I love, and it’s something I always want to return to,” Olsen shared. “The thing that’s been so special about the last five years is I’ve gotten to do so much with the character that I never thought I would.”

“There are still character through lines that have happened in the comics that I’d love to do, and I think fans also want that,” she added. Her performance in ‘WandaVision’ remains one of the most acclaimed in MCU history, earning her Golden Globe and Emmy nominations. Olsen herself has acknowledged how rare it is for an actor to be part of such an enduring franchise: “Some people have ongoing television series that they get to return to,” she said.
“Very few, I feel like, get to be part of franchises that we might culturally get a little bit exhausted by, but there is something about them that becomes very familial.” She recognizes both the criticism and the comfort that long-running franchises can bring. She added, “There’s nothing else really like it, and I don’t know that I’ll have that again, unless it’s for an ongoing show. Job security feels nice. I think we can all agree on that.”
Olsen also spoke about critics who dismiss Marvel films as formulaic. She reminded audiences that these stories are for fans first and foremost. “These movies aren’t for critics, they’re for fans,” she said with a smile. “It’s really fruitful, and the stories have only gotten better for me and my character. I really enjoyed it.” As for her live-action future, Olsen was asked whether she’d appear in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which finished filming in September 2025. She clarified she wasn’t part of the project.
“I Have No Idea What Happens”: Elizabeth Olsen Forgot She Was In New Marvel Series

Elizabeth Olsen recently left Marvel fans both amused and bewildered when she confessed that she completely forgot about her role in ‘Marvel Zombies’. She revealed she has absolutely no memory of what happens in it. “I truly recorded that years ago,” Olsen said candidly.

“I can’t remember anything, I need to watch it. I have no idea what happens in Marvel Zombies. It’s my voice. I did it in my house, I wasn’t even in an office space. This must have been 2020, 2021? Why was I working in my house and not in a studio? I really have no idea what it was like. I’m so sorry.” Her statement quickly spread across social media, with fans jokingly calling it the most relatable celebrity moment of the year.
‘Marvel Zombies’ expands on the story first teased in ‘What If…?’, reimagining the MCU’s heroes as undead versions of themselves in a post-apocalyptic world. Olsen lends her voice to an alternate version of Wanda. She is a zombified Scarlet Witch who brings her trademark power and chaos to a much darker setting. Though she may not recall the experience, fans are thrilled to hear her return to the universe, even in this alternate form.
