Elizabeth Olsen Wants To Team Up With Aubrey Plaza’s Lady Death And It’s The MCU Comeback Fans Deserve

It’s been three long years since we last saw Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch on the big screen, and fans still aren’t over it. Wanda Maximoff’s tragic fall in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ left a hole in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her heartbreaking arc  remains one of the MCU’s most emotionally resonant stories.

Now, Olsen herself is hinting at a return, and this time, she wants to share the screen with Aubrey Plaza’s Lady Death.

Scarlet Witch And Lady Death Could Be MCU’s Most Powerful Duo

During her recent appearance at Spacecon San Antonio, Elizabeth Olsen was asked, once again, about her future in the MCU. While she stayed coy about any confirmed plans, she dropped a little tease: she’d love to return as Wanda Maximoff if it meant working with Aubrey Plaza. For fans who remember their electric chemistry in the 2017 cult hit ‘Ingrid Goes West’, this feels like destiny. Olsen and Plaza were an unforgettable duo. So, the thought of them reuniting as Scarlet Witch and Lady Death feels like a cosmic alignment Marvel can’t afford to ignore.

Aubrey Plaza made her MCU debut as Rio Vidal (a.k.a. Lady Death) in ‘Agatha All Along’. Given that Lady Death is traditionally one of Marvel’s most powerful and enigmatic entities, the literal embodiment of death itself, the possibilities for a crossover with Wanda are endless. Both characters are fierce, emotionally volatile, and wield unimaginable power. Wanda’s chaos magic reshaped reality itself; Lady Death rules over existence and nonexistence.

So, a meeting between them would be more than just a crossover, it would be an event. Imagine a reluctant alliance, with Death reviving Wanda for her own cosmic agenda. It’s dark and dramatic, and it’s exactly the kind of story Marvel needs to bring emotional depth back to its universe. Their chemistry would practically crackle off the screen. Olsen’s intensity and Plaza’s dry, haunting charm could make this the MCU’s most hypnotic partnership yet.

Let’s be honest, the MCU hasn’t been quite the same since Scarlet Witch vanished. Wanda was one of the few characters who felt real: her grief, her rage, her longing for peace. ‘WandaVision’ turned her into a household name, and ‘Multiverse of Madness’ gave her an operatic, tragic finale. However, killing her off? That felt less like closure and more like an unfinished sentence. Since then, fans have begged for her return, and Olsen has kept hope alive, saying she’d love to come back if the story felt right.

Teaming her up with Aubrey Plaza’s Lady Death could be exactly that. If ‘Multiverse of Madness’ truly ended with Wanda’s death, then who better to bring her back than Death herself? Lady Death, intrigued by Wanda’s mastery over chaos, offers her a deal: life in exchange for service. It could even echo the classic Faustian bargains of Marvel’s darker tales. It would also fit seamlessly into the MCU’s evolving tone. With new MCU projects exploring more supernatural and horror-inspired themes, the universe is finally expanding beyond science and into the occult.

A Scarlet Witch–Lady Death team-up could serve as the perfect bridge between the mystical and the cosmic. It could be a way to make magic feel dangerous again. And on a character level this could finally be Wanda’s path to redemption. Her turn to darkness in ‘Multiverse of Madness’ left fans divided; some saw her as a villain, others as a victim. A resurrection arc guided (or manipulated) by Lady Death could bring her story full circle.
