Gillian Jacobs, the voice of Atom Eve in ‘Invincible‘, has recently disclosed that she once pitched a Marvel project, which was based on the comic book character Dakota North.
Jacobs explained that she has long admired the Dakota North comics and thinks adapting the character for television would be wonderful.
Gillian Jacobs Reveals Her Idea For A Dakota North Marvel Show

In an interview with MovieWeb to promote the fourth season of ‘Invincible,’ Jacobs gushed about Dakota North. The actress said that she had read the comic many years ago and always thought that it would be a good adaptation to the screen.
Despite the comic’s relatively short run, she believes the concept has strong potential. “I pitched a show about Dakota North to Marvel. “It would be a great TV show.”

Jacobs, when questioned about whether she wants to be the star of the series or just develop it, she admitted willingness to do either. “She’s such a fun character,” Jacobs said. She believes that the private investigator setup could open the door to a different type of storytelling compared to traditional superhero projects.
A Dakota North Show Could Offer A Different Kind of Marvel Story

Dakota North would bring a much different approach to storytelling in the Marvel universe, should it be adapted to TV. Instead of massive superhero fights, the series could focus on a down-to-earth, detective-oriented storyline that revolves around investigations and street crime.

Since the character is a private investigator, a Dakota North series would be able to focus on the more mundane aspects of the MCU. However, it would still be able to make a few references to established characters. This style has worked in other Marvel stories that have centered on street-level heroes and ruthless criminals.
While Marvel has not yet stated any intentions to develop the project, Jacobs’ passion towards the character highlights the potential for lesser-known Marvel comics to inspire new stories on television.
