“I had seen actors in the Marvel movies having a really good time, and I thought, well… maybe I ought to get me some of that,” he shared in a promotional video for the film. The upcoming film doesn’t just see Ross ascending to the role of U.S. President; it introduces his transformation into the formidable Red Hulk.
For Marvel President Kevin Feige, this was a dream come true moment. “Harrison Ford playing President Ross is one of the many ‘pinch yourself’ moments,” he shared. Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson, lauded Ford’s process, calling it an invaluable lesson. “Harrison was cool, and he was great. Watching him sculpt a character in a world this big was something I couldn’t put a price on,” Mackie shared.

“I was surprised at how normal he was,” Mackie admitted. “Usually, you have a big star in a movie, and they go sit off by themselves with their friends and won’t talk to you.” Ford, however, shattered that stereotype by constantly mingling with the cast and crew and even partaking in the set’s less-than-stellar catering.
“Harrison would come and just chill with us like a regular person and eat those awful peanut butter and jelly sandwiches,” Mackie quipped. Despite his towering legacy, the 82-year-old star approached the project with humility and enthusiasm. Moreover, for fans of the franchise Ford’s Red Hulk is as exciting as it gets.
