The ‘Euphoria’ star Hunter Schaefer has been a fan-favorite choice for the shape-shifting mutant for quite some time. Now, new reports suggest that Marvel Studios is seriously considering her for the role.

Hunter Schafer, who has quickly risen to fame through critically acclaimed performance as Jules in ‘Euphoria’, seems like a natural fit for the complex Raven Darkholme. While it’s unclear if she’s officially in talks, insider MyTimeToShine claims the actress is being considered for the role.
Mystique has been one of the most compelling characters in X-Men history. Originally portrayed by Rebecca Romijn and later by Jennifer Lawrence, the character has evolved from a ruthless villain to a reluctant antihero. Given the MCU’s track record of reinventing classic characters, a fresh take on Mystique seems inevitable.
All The X-Men Casting Rumors
Hunter Schafer isn’t the only name floating around for the MCU’s X-Men reboot. Other rumored castings include ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ star Jack Champion being considered for Cyclops. ‘Stranger Things’ star Sadie Sink is also a rumored candidate for Jean Grey. Whereas, ‘The Bear’ breakout Ayo Edebiri is reportedly on Marvel’s radar for Storm.

Additionally, long-time fan favorite Gambit is expected to join the lineup. However, it remains to be seen whether Channing Tatum will finally get his chance to play the role after years of development limbo. Meanwhile, Kitty Pryde is also rumored to be part of the team, signaling a diverse and exciting lineup of mutants.
The project is still in early development, with screenwriter Michael Lesslie working on the script while Marvel searches. A director has not yet been found. Additionally, some X-Men are also expected to make their debut in upcoming Avengers films.
