‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ Marked A New Beginning For The Gambit
‘The Gambit‘ solo film faced numerous hurdles before its ultimate cancellation. Multiple directors and script rewrites plagued the project, leading to constant delays. However, the final nail in the coffin was Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox.
Additionally, with the X-Men franchise now under the Marvel Studios umbrella, plans for standalone X-Men films were scrapped in favour of integrating the characters into the larger MCU. This decision, while disappointing for fans, ultimately paved the way for a fresh approach to the X-Men characters.
However, Tatum’s appearance in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ marks a new chapter for the beloved character. The film portrayed Gambit’s bizarre humour in addition to his fighting skills beautifully. In fact, it can be said that he was the only one to leave the Merc speechless.
