Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently opened up about the potential for more ‘Eternals’ adventures. He also addressed fan curiosity surrounding the MCU debut of the Inhumans.
Speaking at D23 Brazil, Feige provided a glimpse into Marvel’s evolving strategy as it balances past disappointments with future opportunities. Despite the reception around the film, Feige himself is a fan of ‘Eternals‘ and its cast.
Kevin Feige Calls The ‘Eternals’ Cast “Incredible”
Marvel’s ‘Eternals’, which was released in 2021, was met with a mixed reception. Despite boasting a star-studded cast, including Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kit Harington, Barry Keoghan, and more, the movie made history with its low rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
It garnered only $164.9 million domestically, the second-lowest haul in MCU history behind ‘The Incredible Hulk’. Despite this, there were a lot of rumors about the film’s sequel as the post-credits scene of the film hinted at a much larger threat.
Moreover, Feige was surprisingly optimistic about a sequel for the film. “I’m very proud of that movie; that cast was incredible. We’d be lucky to get any of them back at some point,” he noted. This response suggests that the ‘Eternals‘ could make appearances in other projects or story arcs even if not a sequel.
It also aligns with rumors of the Eternals being featured in the upcoming Marvel ‘Zombies‘ animated series. Kit Harington previously suggested that any direct sequel might have been scrapped. Still, Feige’s clear admiration for the cast signals that the door remains open for the immortal heroes.
“We’ll See”: Kevin Feige On The Future Of ‘Inhumans‘
The ABC series ‘Inhumans’ was a significant misstep for Marvel. The question of when, or even if, the Inhumans will make a true entry into the MCU is also a much-speculated topic. The show not only received poor reviews but also failed to capture audiences.

This failure seemed to cement the notion that ‘Inhumans‘ might be sidelined just like the ‘Eternals’. However, this notion changed when Anson Mount reprised his role as Black Bolt in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’. This brief appearance hinted that Marvel might be reconsidering how to integrate these superhumans into their universe.
When asked directly about their future, Kevin Feige did not straight up deny the rumors. “We’ll see where, if, and when, they return,” he stated. Moreover, there’s also speculation that a proper introduction of the Inhumans could align well with upcoming films like ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’.
