In a recent interview with Variety alongside his co-star Hugh Jackman and filmmaker Shawn Levy, Ryan Reynolds was asked about how fit he needs to be to play ‘Deadpool’. The actor opened up about the relationship he shares with his iconic character as he also revealed the efforts he is having to put in to play it perfectly.

“It’s not so much about the aesthetic, though I have to fill out the suit. But you want people to see that you’re putting in the work. It makes me feel like I earned it. I have an intense relationship with Deadpool. My middle daughter said, “Daddy, when can you stop Deadpooling?” I was like, “Soon, baby. I promise,”” Reynolds said.

Jackman also chimed in with a hilarious response, as he said, “You do have to stop wearing that mask in the house.”

While fans have always admired the work Reynolds puts into fitting into his characters both physically and emotionally, they are seemingly in for another ride. Both the Deadpool movies released in 2016 and 2018 received huge amounts of praise from fans across the globe.

The witty nature of Ryan adds so much to his character in Deadpool and fans have always been thrilled to get a glimpse of him on screen.

Ryan Reynolds And Shawn Levy Talk Hugh Jackman Changing The Course Of The Film

As ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is set to hit theaters on 26 July, Ryan Reynold and Director Shawn Levy opened up about how Hugh Jackman’s addition to the film “changed things.”

While being asked about it during the same interview, Shawn Levy said, “We had been trying to craft a story for several months. We had some interesting approaches, but it never gelled. Literally within a day of Hugh joining this story, we knew what the movie was.”

Adding on, Reynolds mentioned, “We had a why. When Hugh called, Shawn and I were on our last pitch. Right before, we were like, ‘We’ll do the Zoom with Marvel, and if they don’t bite on this pitch that we have, we’ll stand down.'”

They also spoke of how Hugh Jackman “unlocked the biggest thing” when he sent a voice memo encouraging the idea of Wolverine being added to the movie.

“We won’t belabor the creative part of it too long, but Hugh also unlocked the biggest thing when he sent us a 10-minute voice memo.”, said Reynolds, to which Levy playfully replied, “It was more like 17 minutes.”
