Marvel Studios President is choosing to give fans a sneak peek into what’s next for the Marvel saga.

Following the preview screening of ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, director Shawn Levy, Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Marvel President Kevin Feige, Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen, and Producer Wendy Jacobson sat for a press conference hosted by Rob Delany.

During the ‘Deadpool And Wolverine‘ global press conference, many got to hear from Feige on how the Deadpool franchise is paving the way for a new phase with exciting additions.

“Every [MCU] film is important, and there’s nothing better than a great movie for a Cinematic Universe,” he shared. “The before and after? I think a lot of people talk about the R-rating and, ‘Is every [Marvel] movie going to be R-rated after this?’ Of course not. But I hope every movie after this embraces its tonality the way the way ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ and the way this team does.”

“Also, the ‘after’ is clearly…now that we have characters from the ‘X-Men’ world, the Mutants, we haven’t had access to before,” Feige added. “So, this is the beginning of that, and every [movie] post ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ will be the mutant era coming into the MCU.”

What Can Fans Expect From The X-Men In The MCU?

As work on an X-Men reboot is already underway with Michael Lesslie, the screenwriter of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, fans are wondering how this new era will craft the new X-Men.

Kevin Feige recently chatted up with Gizmodo about what can be expected from the X-Men in the MCU. He hinted that while there will be a mix of well-known figures, there will also be some lesser-known characters involved. Additionally, he stated that a significant portion of their MCU film plans revolve around the melodrama of the beloved series of X-Men comics and X-Men ’97, which is also shaping the team’s composition.

He stated, “Well, it’s that phrase we use often at Marvel, which is, ‘It’s an embarrassment of riches,’ and there are a lot of great X-Men characters in the Deadpool & Wolverine film. There are a lot of great X-Men characters in all of the Fox versions of the X-Men films. And there are a lot of great X-Men characters that have never gone on the big screen.”

“So I think as we always try to do, as we did when we made the arrangement with Sony for Spider-Man, you’ll probably see a mix of characters you’ve seen before and characters you’ve never seen before. I think the success of X-Men ’97 was really exciting for us to see people revisit and reconnect with that world and dare I say, the soap opera elements of that world, which is one of the things that’s so exciting to us about jumping into it finally in the MCU.”
