“You Wouldn’t Want To Be In His Company”: Kingpin Actor Vincent D’Onofrio Teases The Terrifying Muse In ‘Daredevil: Born Again’

Vincent D’Onofrio, renowned for his chilling portrayal of Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, is once again captivating Marvel fans with tantalizing hints about what’s to come in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’.

The Disney+ revival of Daredevil promises to delve deeper into the darker corners of the Marvel Universe. Additionally, D’Onofrio has now revealed that a new, spine-chilling villain named Muse will play a significant role.

In a recent interview with LegadoTV, Vincent D’Onofrio described Muse as a character best avoided at all costs. “You wouldn’t want to be in his company,” he stated. “You would want to stay as far away from Muse as possible. Muse has an appetite that’s not fun.”

Muse’s inclusion sets a foreboding tone for the series, hinting at a villain who will push Daredevil to his breaking point. While D’Onofrio kept details about the character’s powers under wraps, his description suggests that Muse will embody a terrifying darkness.

Additionally, in the comics, Muse is a twisted villain who has wreaked havoc with his telepathic and telekinetic abilities. His eerie obsession with creating grotesque “art” from his victims makes him one of Daredevil’s most unsettling adversaries. How closely the MCU will stick to this source material remains uncertain.

However, fans can expect Muse to leave a lasting impression. Beyond the villainy, D’Onofrio also shared his experience working with his co-star, Charlie Cox, who portrays Daredevil in the series. He described their dynamic as electric and expressed excitement about exploring the evolving relationships between their characters. Moreover, He also talked about his own passion for Kingpin.

For fans of the original Netflix series, one of its standout qualities was its willingness to embrace a gritty, unrelenting tone. The violence in ‘Daredevil’ set it apart from the rest of the MCU, with shocking scenes that stayed with audiences long after the credits rolled.

When Marvel Studios announced ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ for Disney+, some worried that the show might tone down the brutality to fit within the family-friendly confines of the platform. However, Vincent D’Onofrio assured fans they have nothing to fear and perhaps even more to brace for.

There’s one thing in particular, that my character does, that I can’t believe made it into the cut,” D’Onofrio revealed during a video interview with Rotten Tomatoes. For viewers familiar with Kingpin’s violent exploits (like the infamous car door scene that left fans both horrified and impressed) D’Onofrio’s comment is both thrilling and alarming. What could possibly top Fisk’s previous displays of ruthless power?

Marvel Studios seems to be taking a bold approach with ‘Born Again’, allowing the series to explore the raw, visceral intensity that made its Netflix predecessor such a hit. With ‘Deadpool and Wolverine‘ despite its R-rated nature and violence being such a huge hit fans can expect something of a similar tone if not worse.
